Hi,
I've been following this story/thread/news for a while with great interest, as I'm sure a lot of other collectors have. I just wanted to jump in to say congratulations and that I'm real happy for you. I hope you are able to complete the CAM/WAM series soon and I look forward to seeing pics of them all.

Just saw the Numi News front page article. I read it and said "Old news." because I knew about the coin from this forum. Bullnuke is part of the family. Congrats again.

Fantastic find, Kie. You found what all us roll searchers hope to find...truly amazing. I have 45 boxes of pennies I have been putting off searching...you have got me motivated to start looking again!

The PCGS article: http://www.pcgs.com/articles/articl...zine09292009

I wonder why Mr. Hernandez didn't mention the label mess-up...

Congrats again, Kie!

The good news is that a Google search for "Coin Collectors Forum" has CCF in two of the top three results.

The bad news is that Collector's Universe is the #1 result.

Thanks again guys for all the great comments. I would complain about having to ship it back but they did grade it for free, and about 6 or 8 points higher than either BT or myself would have graded it.

last post on this topic. Received coin back today reslabbed and identified correctly. They even included a PCGS slab holder free with the shipment. I scanned the original label too since they sent it back also. Thanks to all for the advice and congrats on my coin.

Kie

Kie

Thanks for showing me the slab. Nice meeting you also.
I was at Sterling coin today (where the first one came in)
and was telling the owner I saw yours.

huntsman53, Frank, Just a few words from another 'grease-monkey,
You are a gold prospector, so you know that hard work is involved. You can use a Metal detector, but to get to the "nitty-gritty, I suggest going at it wirth a drywasher. it is always hot, dusty, and it will give you good reason to find a place , any place, to sit down for a while, before grabbing the five-gallon buckets of sand and running them thru the drywasher! I have done that, and enjoyed the hard work. no stress involved. Just let the wife do the cleaning of the CONS, (consentrates), and she will enjoy the work, too. Tyhart is how we did it. I say "did, being legally blind, I no longer have a drivers license, and the wife doesn't drive. That means no more prospecting out in the "boonies" I retired in May, of '63, and still am a pretty good pain for those around me. It keeps me, (anf them on their feet). I know this is NOT coin-talk, but at times it does 'relate". I beklieve you said sopmething about havind no luck with photobucket, and posting pictures. Maybe I can help. Is it the locating the pictures you want to upload, or the posting of those you have in the album)s), there on the "bucket/ I had trouble with that very thing, and have seen several suggestions, as to how to go about it. Some of them I couldn't make heads, or tails out of.You can PM me, or after you read this, just ask, and I'll give you my version, step-by-step. Okay?
Referring to the passing of the others, I look around, and see many of my former schoolmates, long gone,as well as many of those who were in my 'book company. I don't know what is the thing that is keeping me around, so until it is discovered, I guess everyone will have to put up with me. i'll try not to be a real pain....
Kie, now that you have your coin all nicely slabbed, and are "the talk of the town", check around to see (, (if you can), where the other two, (or is it one?) were found. That will give you a possible location to possibly find another one. my congratilations for the find, and the nice group of "helpers, who got it slabbed, and got you into the headlines. For a, (13 year old", ypu will have many envious people around you. Enjoy it, you deserve it!
Dick

First coin was found in Mass., second in Conn.
For the record, Kie is an adult not 13 years old.
I think he had made a mistake on his info.

I'm doing the same thing, except fot the "right now" checking. I have acouple rolls, gathered, so far, snd when I finisgh this third box, and then the fourth, then I can sit down, and check them, by date, all the same ones as I work my way thru them. I like to keep the coppercoins.com database up, and go down the list. time consuming, but usually worth it! There are a lot of RPM's out there, along with the "Goodies". Good luck I your search~!
