Drool drool slobber. Must be nice to be rich. You know what the RAM should do. Offer one of these sets as a prize in an internet coin competition of some sort. Not as silly as it sounds considering I won a $500 eyepiece in an online astronomy competition. Of course that means I've use up all my good luck for the next 100 years.

I think if I was only allowed one coin in the set I'd have the round 50c piece.

Interesting dealers had no allocation only can get it from the RAM. Also just 300 sets available. I think for about $4K its one of the best Gold sets ever issued and expect to be a sure winner in its years to come. I have to say a strong recomendation with no doubt

Few question here. How can I buy this 2006 Eight Coin Gold Year Set GST free? I leave for Europe in 5 weeks. Can I ask somehow to get it on the airport like a duty free item? Will this set be available to buy on the Brisbane show?

This set is only available from the Royal Australian Mint no dealers were alocated. If you have a visa card and overseas you will get it GST free. Hope I'm a help as Dealers wont have any in stock and may are not happy about this as letters were written to high ranking Personells is Parliment regarding this issue. I HAVE STRONG RECCOMENDATIONS REGARDING THIS ISSUE

Thanks for your answer tonyozcan. I have already worked out how not to pay GST on the sets. All I have to do is take the sets with me on my European trip. At Brisbane International Airport just past terminal 81 there is a TSR office. I have to show them the invoice to get the refund.
Actually I have to correct you since there is no oversees visa card requirement on the payment to get the set GST free, only the delivery address must be oversees.
My dealer told me he has a customer from England who regularly buys coins from him and sending the goods to his local relatives address here in Brisbane. Once a year he comes to Oz for a visit, and on the way home he claims back all the GST he spent on the coins.
On today's gold price this gold set (even without the packaging and the free courier delivery) is only $50 short of BW so don't be surprised if the RAM can't afford the middleman on this one.

I am one of the new people here. I saw the coins from down under forum and had to have a look. The eight piece gold proof set contains 122.15GR of gold in it. Spot gold would make that about 2744.00 . They deliver the set for 2717.69.U.S. . Thanks for the lead. I called and got the coin size and weights, as they do not have the specs on line and ordered a set.Ounces can be derived by total grams 122.15 divided by 31.103 to acquire troy ounces. They are in the same quandry as the U.S. Mint and will probably make an adjustment. The U.S. Mint has not sold gold for six day and will not until May 18th.
1C size 17.53mm mass 5.61GR 2C size 21.59 mass 11.31 5C size 19.41 mass 6.03 10C size 23.60 mass 12.14 20C size 28.53 mass 24.36 50C size 31.51 mass 25.30 $1 size 25.00 mass 21.53 $2 size 20.50 mass 15.88
Total weight 122.15GR
Thanks Floyd
