I believe you have found one of the very best of the many doubled die 1964 proof varieties.
This is 1964 PR WDDR-033
Class V Pivoted Hub Doubling

Very strong tripling shows on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, FIVE CENTS and MONTICELLO from a CW pivot near the rim at 1 o'clock.
Doubling shows on E PLURIBUS UNUM decreasing from left to right toward the pivot.

No obverse die markers noted.

Reverse should show a short die gouge between the L and U of PURIBUS and a dot south of second U of PLURIBUS.

Mike Ellis discovered and submitted this.

It is a very significant doubled die variety and considered VERY RARE.
Values are higher than most as there are many different 1964 doubled die proofs.
In Wexler and Ribar Best of the Jefferson nickel Doubled Die Varieties 2nd edition book I have it says
PR60 $75.00
PR63 $100.00
PR65 $150.00

Yours looks like a dazzler. Congrats!
There is a way to cross reference this Wexler number.
I will let you look. Tell me if I have nailed this as I learned something new too.

CONECA has it as DDR-024

I love that nickel, super find!
This is not a copy and paste reply, I typed it up from the book.

Well, Now isn't that nice? That's what I call CCF style!
Yes I collect Nickels and study them. I am pretty good on Jefferson's, I looked at quite a few. I am going to start concentrating on Buffalo nickels next and try to learn what I can about that series.

One thing about Jefferson nickels, there is an almost bottomless pit on varieties, strikes, and mint marks.

I have discovered a few things on my own, later to find somebody else has done the same. There comes a time I think when it is finally completed, no collection is ever entirely complete, but mine is almost complete for me. There are only a small number of nickels that I still watch out for. I want to start sitting down sometime and look at them and enjoy the collection for what I accomplished.

I would be very happy to add your nickel to my collection. I do not think I would have that one. That is so kind of you. Perhaps I'll have a Lincoln Cent to return the favor. I really enjoy when people help each other out on the forum. Thank you! PM sent.

Not meaning to hijack the thread but I think 909's coin is identified. rockdude wrote me with a question about a 1962 doubled die and gave me these images.
Lets see if I can find this one.
There's a bazillion of 1962 DDO and DDR varieties too.

Luck would be on our side. This happens to be ( in my opinion )
1962 WDDR-001
Class II Distorted Hub Doubling

If you look on the obverse you should find diagonal die scratches running from 10 o'clock to 4 o'clock holding the date southg. The series of scratches should run under the loop of 6 on the date to under the base of the two.

What helps is the die scratch on the reverse going across the top part of M and O in MONTICELLO
The rest of the doubling looks correct.

Now, your images are very limited as far as focal area. Please use a glass and look at the date.
I am going to guess this coin is in AU condition.

It is very significant doubling and considered rare. Not as hard to find as the other coin in this post above.
Values in my book show.
XF $8.00
AU $15.00
MS60 $20.00
MS63 $30.00
MS65 $50.00

This was discovered and reported by by John Wexler.

The cross reference would be.

then http://www.conecaonline.org/content...9621963.html

look at the descriptions for
DDR-001
DDR-002
DDR-003
DDR-004
all discovered by Wexler. Try to see what you have.

I don't go out of my way to collect these that much but I'd hate to give one away and not have looked closer.
I have a small number of Jefferson Doubled Dies, most important one is the quadruple die reverse 1955 Proof slabbed. I like them but I really prefer the more dramatic.
These two are nice examples. Some doubled dies are so minor I couldn't care less for them.

! You sent me your extra 1964 PR WDDR-033 and I am so grateful.
It has to be PR66 and has the same diagnostics as yours shown above.
What a wonderful gesture.
Man am I ever blown away at your kindness. It isn't easy for me to add a new nickel to my collection.
This is a special coin to me. Thank you O SO MUCH!

I can't get a good image up that quick of the tripled die reverse but here's the coin safe and sound and into an AirTite it goes.
