I ordered my Franklins on January 19th (the day they went on sale). I got them the first week of April.
The only issue I have with the FedEx is that a signature is required for delivery, so ya gotta be there or go to FedEx and pick them up (If a FedEx dist center is near you...thank god its only three miles from me!!)

Kyra,

I got my Ben Franklins about 3 weeks ago. All looked good except the Scientest uncirculated, it has a scratch on it.. I thought about sending it back but figured I would never get a replacement. When did you order yours? I am still waiting on the coin & chronicles set though. Order says expected ship date May 22.

Christina,
Good to know they might be using FedEx from now on. Nice to not have to wait any longer then we have to!

Margaret

One of my Franklin Scientist have a scratch too. I called the mint but they adviced me not to send it in for an exchange as they can't gurantee availabilty.

The ever so efficent mint e-mailed me THIS morning to say my order had shipped. Amazing! Order received yesterday!

Shasti,

curious as to where the scratch on your Scientest unc appears? Mine is on the reverse, covering the "A" and the "T" of states. Posted a pix below. Just wondering if this was something in the die or an honest to goodness scratch.

Hi Margaret,
No, mine doesn't look like that. I'll try to get a picture tonight. Isn't it a Die-Crack that you have?

That looks like a nifty little die crack, not a scratch

Die crack? Well that goes to show you what I know.

I figured it had to be a scratch. I took a few more pix. I still can't tell for sure.

OK, I have the picture but now I can't attach for some reason. I'm going to ask if someone can do it for me.

Shatsi, your scratch isn't nearly as bad as Margaret's or it may be just that hers is magnified alot and yours no so much. I wonder why the mint didnt check the coins before shipping. Would you give a valued customer a rare coin with a scratch?

Shasti,

Ouch! That one is bad. Mine is not very noticable until you start looking. Thats such a shame because I think both Franklin coin designs are really impressive. Wish there was a way for them to replace it for you. I wish I had bought more then one of each.

Do you think you might send it back and then try to buy another from a dealer or ebay? You'd think quality control at the mint would be better then that.

Thanks for posting the pic, I was really curious.

coolg, Margarets is a die crack not a scratch.

Margaret, I place 2 orders with the mint, for a total of 3 of each commems in UNC. But one order got lost and I'm waiting for them to replace it for me. I called the mint about exchanging this one but they said due to the demand they can't gurantee that they can replace it. By the time mine arrives there, if they don't have any in stock they'll credit me. So I thought I hang onto what I have.

I'm not sure exactly when the coins were ordered, Dad was the one who sent the order in but I think it was shortly after they went on sale. Dad's gonna call again on Monday and see if he can find anything else out. *fingers crossed*
