I actually look for these in coin boxes at shops here in California. If I found that, it would have gotten my attention too. But, the curve doesn't seen pronounced enough.

My humble opinion is that it's NOT a wavy. The line of the wave has no curve. But keep looking, you never know when one will turn up.

Does this help? Because it is quite well worn it only shows from a certain angle with the right light.

Sadly, I still think the wave doesn't have the right amount of curve in it. Check the 'reflection' of the wave in Qld Sandy's pic above. I've got 2 x well worn wavy's (had to buy them)and the curve in the wave is clearly noticeable.

I don't believe it is a wavy 20 cent. The curve is simply not right. The one here has a 'V' indentation. It certainly makes you look twice though.

so, either a faked wave or a freak bash/mint strike... either way - I have it in a 2x2" and will continue looking . looking just now actually through $60 of 20c's. OCD can be controlled, but only to an extent! lol

G'day, I think Dibby might have discovered a new Variety: "the Dibby depression"; or "the V-wave"... Peter in Darwin

Go get a big bag of coins from the bank and you will feel better. If not, at least your eyes will be tired and you can go lie down somewhere nice. Beautiful day here today in Melbourne. See, all sorts of good advice here

What do you mean bag - bag of rolls - or bag of loose coins? I got all the 20c from the local bank last week - they could only spare me $20 of them! Will go up again on Wednesday. As for the weather it is raining here. http://www.rosebay.tased.edu.au/camera.htm

Whatever they will give you. I have a few of those cloth money bags and ask then to fill them up with whatever denomination I am after, or mix of denominations. Rolls or plastic bags, doesn't matter to me. I have a business account so I can withdraw larger quantities of coin if I go to a branch with a coin teller.

I did not realise that there are specific coin tellers. I don't have much banking experience in this country.

Not all branches will have a coin teller, usually only larger branches that service a lot of business customers.

Slowbart will be lacking in the large enough branch I suspect!
