After reading this post I found the ad and placed an order. What else can I say?

I did notice this in my RedBook until now. I think I'm going to place an order today. Are they still honoring this offer?

I seriously considered the offer. IIRC, it comes with a free 3X loupe and a subscription to some magazine, as well as the tons of coin-related junk mail you'll get. Seems like a good deal. As a bonus, it seems that all MS 69 coins, even bullion coins, always go for a large premium on HSN Joe

It is probably a decent deal, but be sure to read the ad in detail for things like this: "Availability not guaranteed, Price subject to change" "We may contact you from time to time regarding items of interest" Those are the main issues I saw. I guess if you call them to place the order they will tell you if they still have them and if the price has changed before you order. Otherwise, if you are fine with junk mail and quite possibly telemarketing phone calls (even if you are on the no call list they can still call you since you bought from them, it is a loophole in the law). Also remember that the MS-69 is what they are calling it, and I'll bet it is their default grade for all of them no matter what condition they are in. You wouldn't really have any claim against them even if it was graded several points lower by a TPG. I tend to be a skeptic, so I'm giving you the glass half-empty viewpoint. They may well be an honest company simply running a promotion to get new customers, but I don't think I will take them up on the offer.

Well, it is an "official" NGC graded MS69 slab it says......and when I placed my order they weren't out of them. The only drawback that I could forsee in the ad was the "we may contact you from time to time regarding items of interest." (but you know, it's just possible that I might be interested too !) ...

I was so busy reading the fine print I missed the NGC slab part! If that is true then I'd have a lot more confidence in the transaction.

OH, you'll get the calls!
I thought the same thing, until a couple of months later and then it was every Saturday with something that "11 of these {plug in coin, date, mintmark} just hit the floor and I wanted to let you in on it"
They did send some real nice reading on gold coins.
Keep a Greysheet nearby, so when they call you can look up a price and tell them they are 40% higher than the listed price. After I started doing that the calls stopped.
But I still have the 4 MS-69 Silver Eagles (2 NGC, 2 PCGS) at $18 each (this was last March)

Buy a 2010 RedBook. The ad is on one of the first few pages of the book (just before the table of contents). The offer expires 1/31/10 or sooner if they sell out of the coins.

Yep......and it's like a "coupon" (the ad) that has a "code" number. They will ask you for this number when ordering your ASE.
