So you bought an SGS graded coin at MS-70 and PCGS regraded it at MS-70? Are you serious?

That's fantastic! PCGS certified 13 of 2005-P Lincolns at MS70 and 2 of 2005-D Lincolns as MS70 and you have one of them! That's fantastic for a 13 year old! Way to go!

It just amazes me that people get these "perfect" coins and they are always sent to SGS to grade..isn't that funny? LOL.[:p]

"Buyer Beware" If you can't take 5 mintues and do some research on what you are thinking about buying on ebay, then too bad, flush your cash down the drain. As an ebay purcahser you should spend the 5 minutes it takes to review feedback, previous sales, other items for sale, location of the item, and then use COMMON SENSE! Signed, Bryan Come on guys, cool it

I am concerned that my fellow collectors, and worse yet, new collectors, are being rooked.

I guess I should have been a bit more sarcastic when I said, "That's fantastic! PCGS certified 13 of 2005-P Lincolns at MS70 and 2 of 2005-D Lincolns as MS70 and you have one of them (from a SGS holder no less)! That's fantastic for a 13 year old! Way to go!But then again, I have two teenagers and they sometimes look at me with the same 'blank' stare.

Hey, Zak, have you been following the ebay threads? Although you are missed, they're having no trouble staying afloat without you.

MY OH MY!!! WHAT HAVE WE MISSED?!?!?!?! Well, ok...um...geez, it appears as though everyone on CC has said what has been on their minds and the minds of thousands of other collectors!!! While reading this topic, I MUST (beyond all reasons of thoughts and logic) offer up KUDOS!!! Zakgold, BRAVO! It appears as though you lept from the lion's den straight into the burn blazes of the Nether World, yet at the same time, you kept your head high, thoughts in order, and had people here that KNOW what you say is true...in the South, we call that C.Y.A. (LOL!) SGS, SteveGiftShoppe, Abon, Aboncom, Abon.com, and the hundreds of other names that are used (including the late night, 3 a.m. EST, multi-personalities), PLEASE, listen to that little voice of reasoning in the back of your mind that says: "WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS WRONG!!!!" It's EXTREMELY hard to believe that people in general have become so corrupt by that "ALL MIGHTY" dollar (not trying to offend notes or coins) that they would stoop so low as to attempt to corrupt the minds, interests, and futures of our children. These very children that we could only hope will one day be the bearers of our collections. Imagine the year 2100, a child obtaining an 1867 Nickel Three Cent...as today where one would be worth around $15 in G-4....ok...just forget the value....THINK OF THE HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE OF THAT COIN!!!! May God have mercy upon each and every false alphabet soup grading....because the simple truth is...WE WILL NOT HAVE MERCY FOR YOU IMPOSTERS!!!!

Yes I have...with a smile on my face. I am just one of many collectors that have no issue calling a "spade, a spade". I hope that the next 10 people inform 10 others who inform 10 others until the word is out. Then, if people still want to buy SGS packaged coins after they have the facts, so be it. Collectors (new and old alike) must know about the ebay "alphabet slabbers" who are doing nothing more than lining their pockets and turning off a vast number of people to numismatics. Pass the word...keep up the fight! We have "right" on our side!

The aspect which bothers me the most is the damage being done to the TPG system as a whole by these shysters. SGS is by no means the only one, just the biggest. Now they're multiplying like rabbits, because the ground is fertile for them. And every newbie who is taken by them forms a poor opinion of the TPG system, at least the large majority who do not attend forums like this one to learn the realities. The major TPG's, as well, aren't helping the situation with the First Strike frenzy, and grading MS70's.
