Looks as if Photobucket is the culprit censor. I believe most CCF members are educated enough to understand why you posted the image, and I don't believe an apology is necessary, clembo.

Looks like you're correct pls.
I reckon Photobucket looked at it, and having no idea why I loaded it, decided to pull the plug.

I sent them an inquiry. Not saying I will hear back, but I did indicate that other people, not just myself, were awaiting them reinstating the picture. That's just ridiculous, and shows either horrid automation issues (which should be fixed IMMEDIATELY) or erroneous human deletion (which should be fixed IMMEDIATELY). Either way, they need to fix it IMMEDIATELY!
This kind of stuff just rubs me wrong (can you tell?). A cotton-pickin' TOKEN for goodness' sake. Grrr!

I suspect it's automatic. They might have a crawler that scans for patterns and kicks out this symbol. Image hosting does the same for photos with an abundance of skin tones. Joking aside, I had no problems with those pre-Nazi poker chips. I'd be happy to host that image for you--just send it my way.  |

That's very nice of you, DV  You're probably right about it being automatic.. unfortunately, that means they can't differentiate between something that is meant to be bad v. something that isn't. Apologies for the mini-rant last night. Arbitrary decision-making based on erroneous or incomplete information is one of my pushee-buttons  |

They actually responded to the inquiry, saying they would review and put the pictures back up if they were removed in error. And it looks like they did! Hooray!

Wow!! You guys are too much and I thank you for it quite sincerely. I've been a bit busy and was just going to let the issue drop. Decided to take a separate scan of the "other" chip and saw my original was back for some reason. We may just end up popping a few of these up on ebay and seeing what happens. We've got a few dozen actually so why not? Thanks again everyone. Clembo |

 Dunno...they don't exactly provide documentation to that degree. If you ask me, attributing this to the older "luck symbol" is more plausible than Nazi party poker games.  It's probably easier to sell "Nazi poker chips" than generics from the 20s. But what do I know...I'm hardly a poker chip expert. |

From what I've read the good luck chips tended to be made of clay. These are not. Looking at it from the edge they look like the ones we have. Hey, I could be totally wrong as well. Not something I delve into on a daily basis. |

From the ones I saw, they were either the clay ones or they were bakelite like you mentioned earlier. BOTH types were pre-WWII. I think DV is right and those people you linked to either just assumed their provenance and/or didn't do their due diligence. Honestly, there are more pre-WWII swastika items out there than WWII era ones, simply because that symbol was in use for far longer prior, than that short WWII time period.
