yours could be her birth year and hers cold be your birth year. You can get them polished on the outside and have the dates on the inside

I was finishing it up the Morgan ring when a buddy and his friend came over to the house and his friend just had to have it and offered me 60 bucks for it, long story short I am going to have to make another one

I think my next one will be a 1878 if I make another one. I have quite a few VAM-83's laying around in xf-AU condition. I have to admit it was real hard when I first started drilling into it but once it was drilled I knew there was no reason to stop then

well that would be easy to do, make yours out of a 83 half or dollar (according to your finger size) and hers out of of a 84 quarter (they can be size 4.5-8.5). That is unless you want them to be gold. Just polish the outside and have the dates on the inside. it will look like a silver ring on the outside and have each of your birth dates on the inside of the rings. If you don't want to do it yourself you can get the guy that has those ebay auctions to do them for you, you can order them on his website thecoinsmith.net. If you want them to be gold you may be able to purchase the coins and send them to him to make rings out of if you talk to him

I made one out of an old British Half Crown coin. It's relatively easy to do, it just takes a long time and a lot of patience!

I have 3.
(2) 1898 Barber quarters and (1) 1943-S Walking Liberty half

If anyone is interested in an 1898 Quarter Ring - size 10, I will be putting one of my extras up for auction here soon ;-)

The Quarter ring is I am guessing 3mm wide? It is pretty neat with full 1898 date showing.

You can probably strech to 11 without making too thin.

When making your own, instead of a ring of drilled holes and then filing everything smooth, drill one hole and thread a 00000 saw blade through it, then cut around the inside.

Sorry to dig this thread up again, but it is my turn to jump on the "I want to turn a damaged coin into a ring" band wagon. The spoon method is easy, but hides the coin. The double sided method (in the link provided, using a press/ring sizer etc) requires more equipment than I have available to me right now, but is the style I want to attempt. Has anyone found alternative methods for making a double sided ring?

Also, is the "hole-side" of the coin/ring really thin compared to the rim-side of the ring?

Thanks all!
