The plastic strips and PVC free, pages are inert.

Yes the coins are snug fitting, only problem I have had is when putting a very worn coin, I have had those rattle around.

I have a process when putting coins into the album. I use a small vacuum to suck up and dust that may get on the coin. I use a rubber band to get the slide started enough to pull it out. And yes use cotton gloves to press the coins into the slots. You have to be careful when sliding the plastic insert across the coin.
There are cases where drag marks are left on the coin. If your are careful and the coin is seated correctly than you should avoid this problem.

I have some coins that have been in Dansco albums for over 20 years with no change in appearance. But then I have have some coins tone while in the album, but I believe that process may have started before placing the coin in the Dansco.

Thanks for the info. I'm just not sure if I wanna take the plunge. I really like the presentation though. Perhaps at some point I may get one for the statehood and territories quarters since I have those sets finished and wont be upgrading any of those coins. So once they are in, they are in forever.

I will second that opinion! My oldest Dansco is over 25 years old now, the youngest is almost eleven. I am quite pleased with them.

Here are pictures of my only Dansco. It holds all the P and D mint Sac dollars as well as the Native American dollars from '09.

Lizzyjo- Nice looking Sacagawea dollars you have there. I really likes these coins once you see them all together.

Johnny54321 - My type set is not as nice as yours .. seeing yours makes me want to start the gold page .. but I will wait until I have the first 5 pages done.

Here is a circulated Mercury dime sets.

Well over half of these I found metal detecting. In my efforts to organize my collection this past year, I bought this used Dansco, sorted through a jar of dug dimes, then checked my 2X2 boxes to fill in and upgrade.

I did buy the 1921 a couple months ago. When I see a good deal, I guess I will try to upgrade some more of these coins.

My Dansco has only a few slots so I tend to rotate the coins I place in it. Here is one of the new replacements that went in last week.

RPT - Those dimes were dug over many years. More recently I hunt the beaches, where find more gold rings than silver coins. For me beach season is just starting here.
