Crud I thought I was seeing that to on the second try. And then gave it up 14.6 Nice VAM. If when I really start going over my 78's I find doubles I will let you know.
On the other side I know where I should be able to pick up about 15 of this reverse at around 22 to 25 bucks all under AU.

Just for grins guys try to stop into the Buying Gold and Silver joints that are popping up everywhere. They buy at scrap and if you take a good deal of coins they sell on the cheap sometimes.

And the best part!! Many coin hounds have never seen the ones you get.

SeatedNut what is truly scary is that since I came here to look up the first 2 coins (You helped me with) the 78 long nock Vam-54 and the 78 vam-12 I have never had so much fun. I thought I had bought alot of silver before, and I had. But now I look single items. I started as a kid, and had always figured I would go over them some day.
That day has come and now I wish I would of opened my eyes sooner!

Yes the first one is a 14.6. Here's a close-up of the ear.

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. That's a weak reverse. The coin is unattributed in a PCGS 63 holder.

It's hard to see the "bearded lady" (blue arrow) aspect of the 41C from photographs. My pick-up point with that reverse is clashing around the mouth (yellow arrow) and the wing clash off the neck (red arrow). I had to manipulate that shot to show the "bearding".

As with all contests, the decision of the judge is final. Alladinslamp is our winner (even though was not the first on the 14.6). Email coming to you.

Well " I hope your happy SeatedNut" I dreamed of nothing but Vam- 14.17's and 14.14,14.12,14.11 all night. Now later today I am going to go out and buy the 15 1878's just to have them! And keep them out of John's hands """until he sees them for grading"""

I'm elated! Those dreams don't go away, they will get worse.

Looks like you've enrolled in the 15-step program. It's the only known cure.

Wish I could sit down with you and go through those. My sources are limited here. There are a couple of notorious VAMmers in the region.

Judd1552,

I already divulged the VAMs

The first is a 14.6 and the second a 41C. The VAM 3 does have a crack that goes from the rim to the left side of the fourth right star, but it stops at the star. The crack on the 14.6 is on the right side of that star and continues to the hair.
