That is one beautiful album of coins, I could probably retire my entire family with the cost of that collection. Ironically, the only coin I did not like, also one of my favorites, was the 1977 Ike dollar. I don't know why they chose a dark insignificant Ike to put into the album unless there is something special about that coin that I don't know about. Can anyone help me out with that? Berry

Very nice set. I think I have, in my life of collectiing had almost every type coin in that set.(take a peek at my gallery photos) Oh well, maybe I should try to build another one. Mike

I have a few type sets -- for cents, nickels, half dollars, etc. But, to afford the one pictured would be far beyond my means.
Anyway, it was nice to look at.

That is a sweet set. Might have to start one of those when I get done with the gazillion other sets I have going.

I think that Ike is just a mirror proof that is reflecting something black in the background. Go up and look at the Kennedy half. It also has a black reflection. MM

That set belongs to a collector named Barry from the CU forum. He put it together in a very short period of time. There is a very easy way to tell it's his, he dislikes commemorative halves, and didn't put any in his album. There is a spot for 4 of them in the album. This is what that page should look like. This is my album and I just put the last coin in it. Now on to the upgrades

Becky, I love your four commemorative half-dollar coins. Can you tell me what years they are? From your photo I can see that one is 1966, but I can't make out the others. I am unfamiliar with US coins, and I have never seen ones like those before.

Thats a really nice set must have cost a bundle I guess for the fun of it this much 250,000 maybe or maybe thats how much its worth. That set is missing some nickels like the two 2004 reverse and the two 2005 designs and the 2006 designs do you think he will make a correction and add on to it?[:0]

Thanks, Becky!
The 1925 "Stone Mountain" coin is terrific. I think that's my favourite. Thanks so much for showing them to me.

What an interesting coincidence! Waiting for it to warm up outside (40s this morning in northern AZ) so I can get some outdoor work done, I've been cruising CCF and thinking about the direction I want to take my coin collecting activities, a goal if I might so state toward which I might strive this next year. I have pretty much settled on a 19th century type collection and up pops exactly what I have in mind, a good example of what can be done.
And, it is no coincidence that the owner of this set also happens to be another ham radio operator, Barry W2UP, a noted CW (Morse Code) contester with whom I have made contact in one context or another. Great minds run aside each other...
