So you put in a $400ish offer on a coin with a $4,000 buy it now? Wow! Did you have any thought he would take the offer? If so, you must have had a better idea of the value.
What was your reaction when he took your $400 offer? Shock? Belief that it must be a mistake? I bet you couldn't send payment quick enough. :)

Looks MS62 due to heavy marks on cheek and fields. Definitely return it if possible PCGS won't go higher than 63 and the chance exists for a disappointing grade like AU or 61

I agree with the others.........way too much chatter.......I'd say 62-63. and that spot on the neck does look like it might be a clash error.......tough to say without seeing it in person.

Definitely send it back. There ought to be a law! It also is a fairly common coin in MS 62-63 grades for a lot less money.

It was a no reserve bid style auction with a BIN of $4,800 and a starting bid of $465. Essentially, I was blindly thinking I found a "hidden gem". Thankfully, the folks here provided prompt, accurate insight and saved me before it was too late.

I can see how you got taken in with the coin. Especially by seeing that it was a "MS-67." Everyone says to buy slabbed coins and seeing that this coin was slabbed you thought it was a perfect opportunity. Don't be too hard on yourself as any one of us could have done the same thing at the start of our collecting. I hope you can get it resolved to where you are reasonably happy with the coin. At least it isn't a counterfeit! Finally, I hope that this transaction hasn't jaded you or affected your opinion of collecting coins. It is a great rewarding hobby!

Does anyone know if Certified Silver Investments are reputable graders?

BTW, the grading company was only guaranteeing the coin to be authentic, not that it will grade at X grade.

Quote: Does anyone know if Certified Silver Investments are reputable graders? Nope! I would put them at least five or six grades below what's listed on the slab ... if it would grade at all.
