SWIMS aka Rotator notes, same serial number when turned upside down, the ones I found were $5 I forget the prefix6900069 and $20 I forget the prefix6698699, 127 in each series of 10 million notes, rarer than the 2 digit radars

OK I've heard of those, didn't know what they were called though.
Another dumb question, the replacement notes you found, were they from the latest series of bills and if so how do you identify them?

I have found a bill that was crisp unc that had 5 sevens in a row  BTW what would 1986 5 dollar bills unc Knight and Dodge be worth? Edited by Meldude

the replacements I found are ''so called'' replacements as mentioned in the 2011 Charlton book. My last brick of $10s had a nice repeater: BFB2042042, also a nice radar BTZ9805089, also a $20 ARS7405740.

That's a little harder for people to get into, as the lowest banknote here is currently $5. That's 5x times more investment than searching through Ones. Then again when you get a brick you don't necessarily have to search through it because you already know what serial numbers are in there (unless searching for errors). It's a bit hefty. Most people don't have $500 to put into anything, let alone money, hah!

My understanding is that a brick is 1000 notes, while a bundle is 100 notes. A brick has 10 bundles.

There is a canadian forum I came across on banknotes, don't think they like links to other forums here though and I don't remember the address anyway. So are the bricks/bundles only for new bills?

last couple bricks uneventful but found a 2 digit radar APT5755575 (not very good) and an unc $5 APM. I never ordered new notes but a couple CIBCs have had new notes.

I'm seriously missing out on the fun in banknotes, but I swear, when I'm old enough I'll be interested for sure. The signatures are sometimes interesting, but I think I would be more into errors.

Did a brick search a couple of years back, cost $20 to order a new brick, got 2 of the more common inserts ( replacements) and a 4 digit radar. won't do a search again, not worth the trouble.

sometimes it is a waste of time and sometimes its rewarding, since I'm going to the bank anyways for coins, I thought I'd try paper.

From an ex-armoured car guard who worked on bank machines for 15 years, unless things have changed, a bundle is 100 used bills rubber banded or wrapped with a paper band. Normally used bricks were made up of 10 bundles rubber banded together. Sometimes they were shrink wrapped. A new brick is 1000 new bills tied with flat plastic bands and a new block is 4000 new bills tied with flat plastic bands and wrapped in plastic with a sticker on the end listing enclosed serial numbers. On one occasion I had a block split and banded in two halves and banded together as 1000. The one 500 bill half was sequential replacement notes. Replacement notes were very common. I never did find any error bills or experimental bills.
