Yea morganman, so what, Huhhh. So we are all jealous, OK for you!!! Just seeing photos of your set I personally think it is the nicest set I have ever seen outside of the Smithsonian. I have seen nicer individual pieces at coin shows, but for your efforts, you deserve an A++++++ in Numismatics. Congrats on your hours of work putting the set together. You must be very proud and rightfully so.

I can only WISH that it was mine.....

MM

Edit: I actually reposted it because I think it is one of the most beautiful sets I have ever seen, I have no idea whose it is, but wanted some of the newer members to see what a sight it is.

I have that same album, but the coins in mine aren't nearly that nice! No gold, either. Sigh...

I'm currently working on this type set too. Trying to keep it above XF and I'm still running low on funds. Its a very interesting set to work on, specially since my interest keeps on changing.

W2UP is also a top ham radio contester, so he's gotta have top gear which probably set him back another $15K... or more. If he's got a tower or two, each could easily run $10K.

His type set is the model I'd like to use if I ever get started on my own type set. There'll probably be a few unfilled spaces for an indefinite period.

That set's purdier than mine. I have mine in two old Wayte Raymond Albums from Half Cents to dollars. Fantastic albums but one problem is they have all the types listed, you know the ealry 18th century coins that list for many thousands in AG and more varieties! I'll never complete it.

Yeah, I saw that one too...the problem is that I would rate it at intersting and cool if he hadn't drilled some of the holes on his own...thats about as dumb as you can get...

I would have put an 'unholed' coin in those spots and continued to search for holed coins rather than drill them myself...In my opinion that guy is an idiot...

this is my opinion and it like most opinions its probably like most a$$holes...stinky

Holey Cow!!!!

Is that a "hole" set?

That set has something missing.

I can see right through what he is doing.

There are still some holes to fill in that collection

Isn't that a Dansco 7000000000000000000000000000000000000?

Ok I will shut up now.......

Morganman....very very nice....it IS a set that makes one drool! I WAS going to comment on the purple tone on the reverse of that bronze IHC...I LOVE it! BUT, I scrolled down and there was another page I wasnt expecting...the GOLD page. Man, morganman, that 7070 just literally made my jaw drop! I started my 7070 a few months ago, and am hoping to assemble one similar to yours-your approach to grades is pretty much identical to what I want...naturally, mine won't have that gold page for sometime. Yours is a set to be very proud of, sir!!!

Also, that holed set would be VERY cool if the coins that should be original, truly were holed 'back in the day'. THAT would be quite an accomplishement...holes in the moderns should not be that uniform, seeing it would be acceptable (in my eyes) for the owner of the set to hole them himself...but very very recent moderns.

Thanx for sharing those sets guys!

he said he only holed two or three of the Modern coins so the rest were already holed when he bought them so I still think it would take quite awhile to finish a set like that, if he had just took the modern page out all the rest would be original holed coins that he bought that way
