Looks great, I'm jumping on the VF bandwagon. Dark original toning is definitely a plus for the value.

VF25-30. Definitely get it graded. VF-XF is a good grade for people looking to accumulate Barber halves at a reasonable price, so they are in very high demand.

That's exactly what I've been looking for to put in my 7070.......a nice looking Barber half for melt. Unfortunately you found the only one available in America for this year so now I'm back to square one. It does appear to be obverse limited but I'd grade it at VF+ anyway. Nice score!!

Went out in the mail today to ANACS along with a 1863 IHC, and 6 Morgans (1881s, 1887s, 1889s, 1892s, 1895o). The IHC was one I got for cheap and need it for my graded type collection. Each coin figured out to be around $16.50 each for grading.

Then when it gets back, you can post it and everyone can see how close they were.

Well, ANACS graded it as F12. Hoping to get to at least 20 since of the good sized price jump. Still very happy. Will get pics up as soon as I get them in the mail.

You caught ANACS on a bad day if the coin pictured on the previous page received an F12 grade. I can honestly say, "that coin has more meat on it than any F12 I've ever seen".

ANACS has been really tough on grading lately. I wonder if they take in consideration the price jump between grades? Since the price jump from $41 (F12) to $102 (VF) in Numismedia. This has happened to many of my coins graded through them.

That's crazy. I thought for sure it was a VF coin. Either way you've done well buying it at melt. :)

Whoa, tough break from ANACS. I stand by a solid VF grade for this appealing original coin. If I were shopping for a mid-grade Barber half I'd be happy to pay VF-20 money for a similar specimen.
