You bought that almost at melt! I'd say incredible find, and definitely worth much more especially from the New Orleans Mint. I agree with a nice F-15, and numismedia puts F-12 at $59! It looks very nice and original, which is not all that common with seated material. Congrats!

That is an excellent pickup! Lots of great detail on that coin, and a spectacular price. I picked up a '54 O several years ago in EF for about $55 that has an even 'gun metal grey' toning (as I call it). I thought it was a good price for the coin then, but yours is a fantastic score. Enjoy it!

A lot has happened since '93 as far as prices are concerned. Super deal.

I like it! and you got a super price as well. The first picture is a little out of focus so I can't really say what I'd grade it, but from what I can see it looks like it could probably go Fine-12. I could say if it would go higher without better pictures. The reverse does have claims to a higher grade, but I can't tell if the obverse would support it.

If too many people rush to the antique store, they might become wise to what's going on, and markup the coins as much as the old furniture.

Sweet coin ... did they not make the finest designs for coins during the 19th and early 20th century? Puts today's designs to shame. Great job!

People in the 19th and early 20th century didn't think so. I don't think there has been any design that wasn't criticized as being ugly while it was used. They tend to be praised as an improvement when they are proposed, but shortly afterward they get panned
