I bought a LOT off him, mainly world stuff for my type set, and as others have said, if you can get stuff from him near bullion, he is great. I have had good experiences buying proof coins from him as well.

Im not sure where he gets all his coins from but to assume and suggest that he, like most dealers, get there coins from the dead is pretty harsh!! There may be shady dealers out there as with any business but I think the majority of them are ligit people just trying to run a business. Dont be so quick to judge

He cant have made any money sending out $1 or $2 lots with free shipping. He had a few wins, but mostly he was doing a whole lot of work for not much money.

he actually made lots of money, by charging for full shipping, and not combining shipping.. buy 10 coins, pay full shipping..

I had a friend that got coins from asyn and he was in Florida, I think. I thought that when he showed up down there selling lots of Canadian coins that it was the NNC (fake TPG) guy turned into a seller, rather than a grader who sold crap stuff out of his garage. I think that NNC was banned from ebay, so maybe he just chnaged names then ... way more than 5 years ago.

On the first link above, it says that asyn is "based" in Canada and that very well may be. But my friend, who has ordered a few times to him/her, all the coins are shipped from Florida. My friend asked if he could buy some coins directly from him, rather than via ebay, and asyn said no! So how asyn, based in Canada sends stuff from Florida, I have no idea. My own opinion is that asyn may have someone up here, but that the coins were with NNC, who was very active in Florida. It just seemed strange that asyn came on line at the same time that nnc sank.

Okie... that dealer was most definitely Canadian, operating in southern Ontario. A lot of his material came from wholesale lots from other coin dealers in southern Ontario. He sold anything and everything, it didn't matter to them what "holder" those coins were in.
I bought a number of Canadian error coins from that seller - they came in padded envelopes with an array of Canadian stamps on them. Obviously, they were also buying postage and modern stamp collections...

OK. Maybe at 75, I'm having a hard time remembering things from 6-7 years ago. I DO know that 2 larger Canadian lots a friend bought were mailed from Florida.

Okie, you might be thinking of Alan Hagar - he used to have a larger presence in ebay, with an ebay store in Florida under many names, selling from Florida. He always has Canadian coins in his inventory. I remember when he used to set up Canadian coin shows regularly, and used to have a fairly large ICCS inventory.

A good portion of my collection came from asyn and asynpm. I don't think he's been active for a few years. He used to have free shipping on everything. If I remember correctly, he put a grade on everything, before ebay cracked down on that. Notorious over-grader, but always had tons for sale.
