Just found this and as I have never held or looked at a BU modern commemorative coin I did not know how nice they look! I am about halfway or so on mu PF set but I may have to expand my horizons to the BU as well.

Goldrush I hear ya, I have the same issue with staying focused, but mine is mainly due to snapping up any deal I can find, so if I fine a good deal on a commemorative I get it, if it's a proof ASE I get it, ect.
Oh, and I do have 2 UNC coins, the USO and John Marshal dollars I had forgotten I had.

Hello newbie here, Goldrush58 you have a heck of a collection there. I think the nicest one is the Buffalo. Just my Two Cents.

It sure is a break from all the repetativeness of circulating coins, that's for sure. I agree that the D-Day and Korea coins are awesome in detail. Canadian coins will never look that "cool". I also like that Westpoint coin and the Lewis & Clark one.

As a collector of US and Canadian silver dollar commemoratives, I think that many of the Canadian dollar coins are "cool." Many have outstanding designs with incredible detail and terrific composition.

Here are a few images that I had handy.

I stand corrected. I was just referring to the soldiers in full war gear. Certain engravers are better than others, IMHO. On coins like these we should list them not only by year but by engraver.

GR8, Thank You for sharing Your Sweet looking Modern Commemorative Coins.
I think that the commem's from day's gone by are also Sweet and IMO, have a different appeal, a more Detailed array of designs, amazing artwork, etc, NOT that the Modern's do not, just believe the coins, like the older Currency, have an eye appeal that is NOT used or seen anymore.

I collect both, Modern's and as well the "older" Commem's and enjoy following the stats on the mintages, value, etc.I believe these coins will Always have a place in the hearts of collectors, Look at the interest in the older coins in say the last 10-15+ years, it is like another generation woke up and realized the coins exist, they are unique......
I like other's collect Many different things, I appreciate the hobby and have done so since 1963, ....Enjoy the hobby!!!!!
