Wait! Did you go to Kenner and get there a little before 11? We passed a man and a girl about my son's age as we were walking out past the pool (I was hoping they were going to the coin show).

Yes CoinsKelly that was me. Thanks for the heads up on the show! We had a great time! My daughter bought 2 copper coins (statue of liberty and Indian head), 92 olympic half dollar (the one she wanted), a Lewis and Clark Dollar commemorative, and a dealer gave her a coin from 350AD and gave her some hints to do some homework on it. She also picked a Mercury dime (1929) from a bargin bin. I picked up a few wheat pennies, Buffalo nickles, 3 very nice Mercury dimes, and an 1880 o morgan UNC. It was one of the best days I have ever had with my daughter. We talked about our experience and she put coins in our books all the way home! I will post pictures later.

repj - I've always been interested in getting an old one like the 350AD given to your daughter. But couldn't interpret the heiroglyphics on em. What hints did he give her?

At a coin show today one of the dealers did what he does every year about this time. Brings his daughter to sell those Girl Scout cookies. I bought several boxes again. Not sure why but the show I was at there were a lot of families. Really unusual.

I hope I can do that with my daughter. She is only 15 months right now but sounds like you had an amazing time.

I have a Roman coin from 351 AD. Does her coin look anything like this one?
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

I was hoping to get out to the Crescent City Coin show this weekend, but I wasn't able to find the time. I guess I'll have to wait until November.

These are the things that I picked up. I also picked up some Buffalo nickles but Natalie put them in our book on the way home!

My son picked the copper rounds as well...did the guy give your daughter the speach of when she is 25 they will probably be worth $15 snd when he is retired they would be around $40? THAT sparked a good conversation on speculation on the way home because my son wanted me to buy a lot more!

Repj Having a great time reading your post's. Glad to see the offspring are enjoying the coins as much as we do. One day I will have some of my own (children I mean) and I hope to keep the coin thing running with them too. But I did just take my girlfriend to her first coin show!

Gecko, can't tell you how much fun it is when the SO gets into it as well. Got my hubby into it last year. He is working on a set of FB Franklins and I must say, I think he has great taste. At one coin show, one set of dealers thought it was so much fun to talk to us since we both are so into coins. Plus it helps when I buy something that he does not get his nose out of joint but instead gets excited as well.
