Several years ago there was a gas station near me and in the store section they had an entire series of those large coins. One of each of the most expensive ones in the series. You could get any one with a fill up of 10 gallons or more, one to a customer, free. If you wanted to buy more, $1/each. I bought the about 10 of them. The Merc Dime and the Walking Liberty half look the best. Eventually gave all away to kids.
Latest on that one is $100 and 14 bids. Wonder what company made those and do they still make them. I think originally for drink coasters.

I know they still sell the 1877 IHC and 1916 SLQ in a gift shop in Reno. I have seen them there recently. They even have a 1918/7-D BN. I have no idea who makes them but they have general knowledge on the keys. Probably the Chinese :o

Wait, wasn't the bid at over $100? How is it under $40 now?

oh it was actually a 1909 s vdb.

maybe they thought they were getting a super deal. It's hard to have sympathy for these people when they can't even read.

I carry one--as protection. A 3" coin will leave a mark on a potential mugger.

Wanna hear something really funny? I saw one of these along with an 1877 IHC and a 1909-S VDB at a Cracker Barrel restaurant Old Country Store this summer when I was on a road trip. The price? $6.95
