David, Reading through this thread (instead of doing paperwork for the last 90 minutes) has been such an incredible documentary, not only the unintended journeys of these commems and the addictive look of honestly worn, dirty silver -- but the camaraderie and joy of the pursuit! I'm sorry life circumstances took me out of the Registry at such a time when you, Taylor, Ty and others were entering the journey. Don't worry, I'm not going to re-enter the fray, but I had saved a few AG-G common dates to look at while waiting to see what life would hold in the future. I had some blank 50c Dansco pages that I initially started before going for a mid-grade set of commems, since the F-XF Barber halves are my first love and the equivalent of lowball Commems, especially those 6 stoppers you listed. Taylor has sold me some duplicates for my Dansco page, which is more for the look and match than the grade - amazing how a Fr2 next to a VF35 of a certain design can complement each other so well. Apologies for barging in on your thread last night - I didn't realize Update #4 was quite the wonderful chronicle these pieces deserve and the positive effects that they can have on observers and participants. Your encouragers here are worth more than all the silver, gold and Po-1's on the planet. I'll start my own thread if the passion continues, otherwise, hope to PM sometime. Best, Don

Don -
For me ... it's wonderful to hear from you ... you are one of the few vanguard of pioneers who charted the way in pursuit of this tremendous collecting adventure.
I place you and Bob at the same level ... original members of a very small club ... true fans of this pursuit well before it became 'popular'.
Bob stayed with it ... and his set will always remain #1 ... and we remain solid coin friends.
Trust Don that my pursuit of this classic silver commemorative series in honestly circulated state is driven only by collector passion ... and all my friends pursuing the same objective will be participants in my success and failure ... we are a small club indeed.
Hope that you can rejoin the discussion ... welcome to send me a PM through the CCF to establish private communications.
Best Regards - David

A gentleman and a scholar you are, sir.
To paraphrase Bob, "You're not done, until you got 'em all in 1 (PO1)" (-:

Given the proud state of my circulated set after 11 years of diligent pursuit - and the difficulty of finding these treasured coins in honestly circulates state ... it has been over 1 year since I've been able to share a downgrade. That mini-drought is now over - and with the king of the classic silver commemorative series indeed. Please to share with you a lovely coin that I obtained with a special assist to the small family of like minded collectors who spotted it for me at a show: 1928 Hawaiian Sesquicentennial Half Dollar - PCGS VF35 Lovely gunmetal grey surfaces with uniform honest circulation wear. Enjoy!

Congrats on your Hawaiian downgrade. I've been in a downgrade rut too. Can't remember when on my 50 or 144 sets. They just are not showing up like they use too.
