Shoot I would rather pay them in paper. It is about 25% cheaper that way.

Should have said pre-1965....they might be missing out on a few coins from 1964.
Either way that is an interesting way to gether silver coins/bullion.

When I worked at a gas station I wanted to somehow advertise that I would gladly take half dollars and stuff like that, but had no idea how to do it without making my boss mad. Cool idea, even though gas is 4 dollars here in NY
another funny thing I noticed was the cigarette prices in the back. Here in Buffalo when I was working the prices were over 10 dollars a pack! glad I don't smoke
PS. If the guy does a little math and figures out how much money the gas is on a certain day, and how much silver is worth on a certain day he could get a lot of coins from people at whatever price he wanted. He would just be buying the coins off the people with his money and then setting the gas pump up for whatever he bought them for. EX trade them 25 dollars for a silver dollar and then use that 25 dollars for their gas. Not a bad idea, too bad I stopped the gas station job.

Great photo, which will be more expensive 10 yrs from now, silver or gasoline? I'm hoping there will be a good alternative to gasoline by then!

Well, yes, your title is better.

And if the price we pay for such creativity is a two month wait, then so be it.

hmmmm about 2 wheaty rolls per gallon. That sounds wierd? A gallon? I always compare the price of milk with gas. Gas almost got there that last hike. How much for a pack of smokes? Price looks a buck too high for 'round these parts. 100 star bonus plus points with comp for GO because his title is better ;)

That's really ironic. I was in a local coin store the other day going through some Morgans when a couple of ladies walk in. They tell one of the employees they are from a small town about 50 miles away and work at a gas station. They helped a woman fix a tire and get some gas and the woman compensated them with some "old coins". They have no idea what they are. Turns out she gave them a bunch of (pretty worn) walkers and some Mercury dimes. I think they got about 70 or 80 bucks out of the deal.

I wanted to ask them if I could take a look at them before the dealer made his offer, but thought that might be bad form. :P

Ya, those dealers get P-off when they are offering very low buy prices to customers that do not know value and you try to offer a higher price. They kick you out of coin store/show. I was in a local coin store and some guy was selling off big lot, silver & gold & such.
This coin store gave $250 for a 2007 gold coins that sells on ebay for over $400+++, that was bad enough until the dealer gave him FACE Value $25 for US Mint rolls of Sacagawea dollars which go for $60 on ebay. So I say I will do Face value to guy for rolls and the dealer gave me a DIRTY LOOK & SAID 'NO'. Word is that This same coin store gave an little old lady 2 cents for a 1914-D Penny! This coin store also sells on ebay and I saw the same items listed. How can these guys sleep at night ripping-off a little old lady.
