I'd appreciate any help identifying this token. It seems to be of the Tiffin variety and the closest "match" I could find had a Charlton # of LC-48B2.

On the obverse the wreath on LC-48B2 is CW but mine is CCW and the hanging ends of the laurel headgear hang differently. On the reverse the positioning of the cannon balls beneath the bales is different but the positioning of the hair bun and head relative to the Y in penny and the details near the shoulder seem okay.

My token weighs 6.11 g and is 27.54 mm in diameter which are close to those LC-48B2.

Thanks @1960NYGiants. LC-48-19 looks like a perfect match to me.

I had looked at LC-48B1 in an online catalogue offered by the Saskatoon Coin Club at https://www.saskatooncoinclub.ca/ar...-lc-pt5.html and the cannon ball positions didn't look right. Could it be that the image on that site is the wrong image?

After your post I found an image of the reverse of LC-48-19 online at https://torontocoinshop.ca/products...ken-lc-48-19 and it looks right to me.

I don't have any other references so I am trying to understand the discrepancy. Can you shed any light for me? I presume the numbering scheme for these pieces changed at some point to map LC48-B1 to LC-48-19. Thanks again for your help. I've made a composite below of the cannon ball portions of the images I've seen.

A catalogue by Gregory Ingram was published in 2004 about the Tiffin tokens (The Tiffin Tokens of Canada). The Charlton numbers follow the Ingram numbering, which had 28 different main varieties, with your number being TF-19 in that catalogue. I don't know when the change was made at Charlton.

@TerryT thanks for the additional reference. I'll label it as both Charlton LC-48-19 and Ingram TF-19 and leave it at that. I noticed Ingram also has a book on Thistle tokens of which I have one also (NS-1E4). I really appreciate the help of you and @1960NYGiants to help me nail down the right ID.

Cheers!
