I found this same token with the same design from the website calgoldtoken.com as the 1865 Indian #1, 13 stars.
I wanted to take it to a local jeweler to test it, and these are the results:
Copper: 73.02%,
Gold: 15.51%,
Zinc: 8.94%,
Silver: 2.53%

Weight is 0.19g,
Size is 9.5mm,
So gold content is actually very little, and assuming a gold price per ounce when I calculated earlier today at about $4,435, means this little item has roughly ~$4.45 value in gold. If this item were pure gold, it would have an approximate value of $28.70.
I now think this is more a later restrike of this same token that has a copper center plated in gold.

Where did you get this "token", mrwhatisit?

Cool little piece

Would/could we say a modern tourist piece from @ the 1980's that sold for a few dollars?

I paid about 60 cents for this item last year from a dealer in this and that who had a large lot of coins, tokens and medals that I bought a goodly amount of material from and the dealer was happy and I was happy.

I finally got around to getting this item tested as I was planning on to make a numista page for this especially if it tested pure or nearly pure, and even if I do add this to Numista, I will probably move it on numista to a more modern page.

Please add it to Numista, as that would help others who encounter these wicked little bits. I have a set that my dad picked up back in the '60s or early '70s. These are the best pics I have - one day I'll dig them out.
