ID Help - Roman Coin With Rhinoceros

january1may Pillar of the Community Russian Federation 5172 Posts	Posted 05/26/2026 11:04 am I googled "Roman coin with rhinoceros" and my search immediately sent me to the CoinArchives results for Domitian quadrans types featuring an extremely similar design. So maybe it is a rhinoceros. ...though apparently all four of the relevant rhino types have different obverse designs, and this simple SC obverse with just a wreath and no further legend isn't associated with the rhino reverse. I'm not very sure what's going on here. Hope it's not a fake. [EDIT: found one with just a wreath! https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=596806] [EDIT 2: it's Domitian RIC 254 = Numista 251684 (though no picture there).
