During my lunch break I stopped at a local cash for gold place and spotted a 1961 Proof Set in a white capital holder with a Cameo Ben Franklin half! I got to unscrew the case and take a look at the coins. Ben was a little milky in the mirrored fields, but the Cameo was unmistakable! I'm guessing this is a Proof 63-64 coin because of the haze. No scratches or other detracting features. The rest of the coins were perfectly mirrored with some pleasing toning.
I talked him down to melt for the set!
I'll post photos as soon as I can take a photo of it that's not blurry!
Here she is. Nice color and tone on all of the other coins. The dime has a windswept golden look, the nickel is characteristically rosy. Again, if this half was a little bit cleaner- this would have been a brilliant specimen.
