Bought this recently at a garage sale for 4 bucks. Mintage is 2.8 million so I think it would be considered semi-key. Opinion on grade appreciated - thanks!

Fine 12 details- the damage probably knocks it down to VG 08. wholesale is about $3.00 for the coin.

Wholesale at $3? The silver value alone is $6 or ~24x face. In lower circulated grades, the 40D is common enough that it does not have a premium but it is one of the early dates that exceeds $100 in MS grades. Regardless of the date and mintmark , it was a great buy for $4

yeah, my bad on the price, didn't take spot into account and was referencing a 2010 blue book. I don't think people typically get full on spot anyways when they try to sell...
