rexvictor Valued Member United States 115 Posts	Posted 10/30/2011 01:14 am Hello everyone, I just watched this video of the hard sell they did on HSN at some point on GSA "brilliant uncirculated" 1885-CC Morgan dollars: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjJpKwALIqs About the only part that wasn't awful was the grade estimates, which appeared fair. It was claimed in the video that the 1885 is the rarest date of Morgans from Carson City, and if that's not false advertising, I don't know what is. At least the people who bought these got the real deal, however everyone here knows they could have done a lot better elsewhere. I'm happy if these sales lead to more serious coin collectors, but the hype in this video was hard to take. Report this Post to the Staff

mitchhailey Pillar of the Community United States 1150 Posts	Posted 10/30/2011 02:22 am The '85 is the lowest mintage CC Morgan, third lowest mintage overall. However, where I think they are misleading folks is the fact that a good portion of those '85s ended up in the GSA sale, when only 1 '89 was in there (ostensibly). So technically the '89, with it's 350,000 mintage, is 'more rare' (in GSA holder) than the '85 @ 238,000. Report this Post to the Staff
