Taking photos with my new camera, I sometimes notice things I didn't see in hand. This Franklin has something odd going on on the obverse between the "R" and "T" in LIBERTY. I am guessing it took a heavy rim hit an a weird angle that smooshed some of the metal into that flake that we see on the obverse. Any alternate theories? I am guessing this is merely PMD.

Could be a lamination error.

I'm thinking that's a lamination error as well.
