It came. OH IT JUST CAME!
A silly, old coin which, while overlooked by some is much appreciated by me.
As soon as I got it out of the envelope and took a closer look I saw some happy words:"Konigreijk Der Nederlanden":
The Kingdom of the Netherlands." My favorite country!
And the year: 1878.
The first thing that I thought: "When did Belgium separate itself from the Netherlands? [1831 - the year of the constitution]
But that is just history, and coins are often a window on history for me.
A silly, one cent piece that would be overlooked by many, but which reminded me of the joy I used to feel pouring over the "cheap" boxes of the coins of my youth. I would come home with two coins: one for which I paid $25 and an another for which I paid $0.25.
BOTH were precious to me.
So my thanks to you, DVCollector, for helping me to reconnect with my memories.
Matthew

First, the post office should explain their uneven application of postal rates, as discussed here.
In my case, the local PO told me a single coin (0.4 oz total), mailed in a standard envelope to Canada, is a "package" and subject to $3 postage--a rather crazy interpretation of their rates. My solution was to include the coin inside a letter, and pay the usps letter rate to Canada ($0.85)--a saner interpetation if you ask me.

In other news, all the coins have shipped.

I often ship single coins in 2x2's in letter envelopes as well, it is much cheaper. (Like you pointed out)
