Is anyone interest in this:

http://www.apmex.com/Product/68017/...99_Fine.aspx

The mintage is unknown and they come in sheets of 20, according to an online rep from APMEX.

I was placing an order with Colonial Acres yesterday when I noticed they had those 1/2oz Fiji Taku coins. I have one of the one ouncers and it is one of the best looking bullion coins out there, so I bought one of the 1/2 ouncers. Colonial Acres price is way better than APMEX too, although I see they are sold out now.

Yes, Hulk. Colonial Acres had listed only 45, I believe. I ordered a few today from them and really look forward to receiving it, since they will be my first Takus.

As of APMEX, it was sold out when I was checking on Monday and now it's back in stock.

I steer clear of MOST half oz. silver coins, but two clear cut NO-brainer exceptions I feel is this Fiji (I as well have half oz. an agree on its beauty an high quality) and I like the nice Libertad in this HIGH dollar proof variety....

Hawk,

I typically don't full around with 1/2 ounce coins, either. The premiums seem to be a little higher. I've made a handful of exceptions with the lunar series, and admittedly, I misread or misunderstood a few auctions where I thought I was getting an ounce and it turned out to be smaller. I won a 1/4 oz. Libertad that way, once.

You guys are a bad influence. Just bought 10 of the 1 ouncers from APMEX. Even with the $19.95 S&H charge, it was still about $10 a coin less than on ebay.

I understand. Most of my collections are pure bullion, though quite small overall. Occasionally I got distracted and picked up a few collector items.

Btw, Colonial Acres is back to 190. Very typical.

Anyways, I guess this 1/2 oz turtle may be not that rare.

Nothing wrong with that if you have a good local dealer. A lot of people don't have one, so on-line buying works for them.

As to APMEX, their shipping schedule works very well for anyone who buys bullion in some quantity. I agree that buying a few coins from them would not be good due to the shipping cost. Provident tends to have better shipping prices, though, and occasionally runs a $5.95 shipping special that looks decent.
