As promised here are a few more facts about Canadian coins.
All circulating coins feature a portrait of the reigning British monarch on the obverse.

Queen Victoria 1870 - 1901
the 1,5,10 and 20 cent coins were also minted with the date 1858

King Edward VII 1902 - 1910

King George V 1911 - 1936

King George VI 1937 - 1952

Queen Elizabeth II 1953 to the present

The silver dollar coin was introduced in 1935 as a commemorative and was produced as a circulating coin until 1967 with the exception of the war years 1940-44.

More later

Though I mainly collect Aussie decimals and predecimals, I also collect holographic type coins and must say the $20.00 holographic coins are very nice. IMHO the "Aurora Borelis" is the best in the series.

I bought this particular coin for my wife and she absolutely loves it! I do wish many of the Mints would slow down just a bit as the new technology is really hard on the old wallet! Too much, too quick!

That has to be one of the most beautiful coins that I have ever seen. Looks as if I will have to pick up one of these before my next trip to capital hill.
