I posted a picture of the coin in the 2004 RCM annual report in the World and Ancient forum.I decided I would post a picture of the 2003 coin here. It is a regular one cent coin featuring gold plating of the maple leaf design.

Nice cent Bromac. Thanks for updating us on CN coinage. Now if you can just arrange that meeting between the Directors of the US and Canadian mints that ND suggested...

I love the multiple colors and their hologram coins are absolutely stunning. I can't say that their designs are all that great most of the time, but the thought put into the coining of the coins is the standard I would love to see the U.S. adopt.
Rest in Peace

Awesome! The RCM puts out some really great stuff, and their quality control is beyond compare. (I'm a big fan of the Maple Leafs!) Too bad the US Mint doesn't follow suit...

I agree, but isn't it a shame that this same Mint also cut the amount of gold going into their gold coins, without telling the public. Read all about it in Coin World. NOT GOOD BUSINESS!

OK, you have a point there. I wasn't familiar with that story until now. But I still think that the good that comes out of the RCM outweighs the bad.

This is why I collect Canadian coins. They are absolutely beautiful. U,K, coins are also stunning, as are Australian. Maybe one of these days our mint will catch up with the great quality of coins those mints produce.

I must plug Australia here as well since I started watching, and buying on occassion some of the stunning designs they are striking these days. Some of them are huge compared to our standards and mintages are low. Really glad I keep an eye on Canda, Australia and the Euro as it has added a new spark to my collecting habits.
Rest in Peace

I must say that I am also amazed by the coin's of the canadian mint. The hologram's are some of the coolest coin's evr minted. Although the US mint is trying to come out with some new design's. I feel they are league's away from most of Europe, as far as fresh desin's. We seem to want to rehash the same old style's.
