I was restoring some nickels today, and usually it is easy for me to judge, but today I need some help. What does everyone think?

Looks like one to me too. You can see the flat top of the 8, that's where the 7 intersecs.
Here is mine for comparison.

It potentially looks good to me, but I'd like to see a much nicer close-up of the date region, kind of like the nice picture that vermonensium has posted here.

If I could figure out how to do that, I would love to show it. I've spent countless hours with no success with my camera. A little later today, I will post in the photography forum.

I would guess that it IS an overdate. I base that on what I can see of the lower loop of the 8. Instead of being round or oval it looks more like a half-moon. Does your camera have a "Macro" option?

Looks like an overdate to me. By the way Brian, nice ebay ID -"reborn-buffalos". Why didn't I think of that?

I got the idea from your name. :-) I'm sure you knew that, though. Haha. As usual, Steve, thanks for the help. Along with everyone else, I appreciate your input.

Brian, that 4th photo confirms it with me. Flat top 8. I think weerdsteev would concur, or already has! Nice find man!

Please also show us a photo of the reverse. Mintmark location is one of the points to look for for this variety.
