Why Are These Modern Quarters Higher In Value?

ilzho Valued Member United States 148 Posts	Posted 06/30/2012 8:41 pm Ok, I was looking through the Red Book and I have a question on why these quarters seems to be more valuable than the others? 1982P 1982D 1983P 1983D 1986P 1986D Are there specific errors that apply to these? And even then, those would be the highest possible prices. If you were to try to sell one for those prices, not much chance you could get that much. Report this Post to the Staff
regularguy Valued Member United States 187 Posts	Posted 07/05/2012 7:56 pm I know that in 82 and 83 there were no mint sets made, so that makes it harder two find nice Unc. coins for a set. That also makes them more expensive, as I found out by building two sets of Washington quarters. The 86 may be just because of a lower mint set mintage. Report this Post to the Staff

RollSeeker Valued Member United States 366 Posts	Posted 07/05/2012 11:59 pm I noticed those years about 4 years back and haven't been able to pull any out of circulation in MS. Then again, I haven't been able to pull many older quarters in MS, no matter what date. I don't think there's much of a market for them, but if I find one for a buck I might take it.
