take a look at the "6" you can literally see a small 6 laying over the large 6. What do you think?

Looks like the date was recut. It appears that the 9 also has some doubling on the top loupe.

A lot of small dates look like that on the 6. If it was large over small you'd definitely be able to tell by the 0.

Papatony--captain says its normal. In hand it definitely looks different than my 1960 sd proof in the dansco. Who knows! Lol

Yeah. proof coins are difficult to photgraph accurately.

I am not coin expert let alone American coin expert...But, I ran your coin through my SPM software and it looks like some sort of doubling as the picture below shows.
