OldSkoo,

Did you ever ask your mom why she kept all of those coins?

Was is because of the perceived value of silver in the future or did she just like collecting those particular types of coins because of the way they looked?

Once I met an old lady who also collected multiple silver coins and accumulated a similar sized stash but only did so because her uncle suggested her to do so beginning back in the 20s.

She did it out of habit but could never really say what her personal reason was for continuing to collect.

Just wondering.,

@argentum

Coin or mother with coins? I have two, but I should probably keep both.

@mdpmedia

Silver speculation. Her mother saved the dollars and my mom added the halves.

Started going through everything. Put together a nice half full Franklin half collection. Weren't enough walkers to really do anything with, but there was a sweet 1917-D reverse mint mark. Found about 40 unique Morgan and Peace dollars so I have a dansco album on order. Out of over 20 1921 Morgans, how many do you think had mint marks? None! All flipadelphia.

The reality is:...what those will offer you for any of those said coins true value of the collecion but rather,, the TRUE value of each coin on i'ts own...

THE REALITY IS...The supposed offer is...For the lowest possible grades which make there profits . for the group of coins....the highs and lows are how they can Make out over the whole...

Actually, there are enough duplicate dates that I think I'll just give her half. Might even get her an album to put them in.

billymac, just buy slow and ask everywhere. you will have the hoard one day before you know it. I have found some in the oddest places and I have only been collecting for 4 or 5 months
