Fresh from a purchase. The good news is I paid a whopping sum of 14 dollars. The bad news is I believe the coin was polished. It looks like it was rubbed while carried in a pocket. The guy I bought the Morgan from claims he never polished it but the high relief portions have more shine than I think they should. This may have occurred from him carrying the coin around in his pocket for good luck. It was very hard to capture the coins shine but it retains great detail. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

A) For $14, who cares?

B) You're probably right about the polishing, but I would expect pocket carry to be the solution, not the problem.

EF-40 or so. May have been cleaned but I don't think it was polished. Not a bad looking coin.

Great snag; enjoy the coin, AND the profit. My dad always said "If you're buying low and selling high, you're doing OK!"

I'd put it back in your pocket and get the rest of that dark stuff off!
