I suppose how many second place votes would be OK. But how about a run off for first and second? Could be interesting.

I'm cool with whatever is decided, even a coin flip, maybe not with these small coins though as they are easily lost!

Seeing in the original post the important factor here is size. If thats the case then in the event there is a draw the winner would be decided by the over all size of the coin. 12pts in gold- 2pts in silver- 2pts in bronze= 16 pts total. @ 7mm!

Thus I proclaim ...Todays winner of the Smallest Bronze Coin goes to BobbyHelmet ok the UK with his fourth century Barbarian Radiant with a Fides or Pax reverse. A wopping 0.39g and an astonding 7mm diameter. An amazing piece of incredible size. A testament to the all those unheard voices of the past whom only had small change to there name, and for them this coin could have meant the difference between life and death. A memory of the underground unlearned nameless celetors who risked life and limb to produce this meager relic. WOW- a great piece well done. Congrats. BOBBYHELMET

Silver: Awarded:- 12pts in gold- 4pts in silver- 0pts. in bronze= 16pts. Total

JWHarper entered with a small late official Issue Roman Bronze of the Emperor Honoris with an amazing patina. This relic dates from the final decades of the Roman empire. We are fortunate to have some of the most historic periods in human history at our fingertips. An amazing entry. This coin could have easily been tonight's victor, in an unprecedented gold metal tie, only to be beat in size by an unoffical issue, from roughly the same period. The competitions main factor as I stated before, was size. Therefore, JW, wasawarded the silver metal. An with no lack of merit.

Bronze: 4pts Gold- 6pts Silver-2pts bronze
Me...Ancientnoob, yea it was tough to place here. Stiff competition. Thank you all for your votes. AE* is small and mine is "Greek" at least to me thats super cool. Master engravers long before the Romans left Italy.

Hope you all enjoyed this as much as I did? I look Forward to seeing what the winner comes up with for SMACKDOWN VII !!

for the win and....

for your wonderfully colorful descriptions Anoob.

Comiserations to JW - but I think he has enough prize winners in his collection to keep him smiling

I have an idea for the next Smackdown, similar to this one in that everyone, no matter how big or small their collections should have a coin they can enter. It just needs a little more thought.

When should I start the next one? in few days time?
