WOW- early results put the 7mm Bobbyhelmet Barbarian Radiant in front, this is gonna be great. So far we have one European vote and several from right here in the USA. We need to see how this is gonna play out when all those who did not compete and the rest of our European friends get their vote in. Ahh its too early to tell to make any calls, who else is on the edge of there seat. We are gonna be in for quite a day ladies and gentlemen.

Great Smackdown--and thanks for the nice comments on my slightly big contestant. Gold JWharper Honorius AE4, RIC X 39, struck at Aquileia 395-402 AD Great details offset by sand patina--beautiful coin! Silver Bobbyhelmet Barbarous radiate, 7mm and 0.39 grams. Wow! This is just tiny! Bronze: Ancientnoob Anatolia, Mysia AE8 0.92g Nice details on such a tiny coin! Honorable Mentions: ValiantKnight Emperor Leo I, Eastern Roman Empire (reigned 457-474 AD), 10 mm I enjoyed seeing such a late-empire coin this small. Eng5858 Constantius ll...337 - 361 AD. The smallest soldier and standards coin I've seen!

Lots to choose from! Very little between my votes but I'm going for: GOLD - Ancientnoobs Apollo, tiny and like the rams head. SILVER - ValiantKnights Leo, nice late coin, we don't see enough late coins here IMHO. BRONZE - echizentos Celtic ring, for age and simplicityLots of almosts - DVC, JW, Doucet etc. to all who entered.

I just think it is so extremely cool that these coins can compete on a "world" stage. We have entries from all over the world, many of these coins for the first time being observed by the international community. Just think how grateful we all are to be in the "hobby of the kings". What an age this is.

A little over an hour remaining in the competition. Make sure that if you haven't voted yet, do so now.
Remember even if you didn't submit a coin you can still vote!!

I reckon second place - our silver medal- should decide the winner in the event of a draw.
