I'm especially impressed by the details on such small coins! JW's coin with the sand patina really brings out those details.

It may not be the smallest, but it is small and different than previous entries: It is Nabatean (from Petra, in modern Jordan) attributed to King Aretas IV, 9 BC - AD 40. 10 mm and 1.02 grams. Meshorer "Nabatean Coins #121. NC 1990 #51. The type is much more common that it used to be. This one is better than the two reference-work examples I cited. -- Warren

Okay - difficult choice here.
GOLD - Doucet - Lovely for a barbarian, detailed even at the small size.
SILVER - Gil-Galad - That tiny bust doesn't fit the flan at all and makes it very quirky.
BRONZE - DVCollector - all round good coin, good reverse and I like the fact that emotion is shown on the obverse. I also like that its issued after death.

Its almost heart breaking to have to vote all pieces I wouldn't mind having in my cabinet.
GOLD - Warren - Nabatean - A great piece with a beautiful impression. A great combination of size, age, and ancient art. Cudos!
Silver - ENG5858 - Constantius ll - A small, light coin with very dynamic portiture. Very nice.
Bronze - Bobbyhemet - Barbarian Radiant - Very small 7mm coin , wild. This was a strong competitor, unmatched in size.
I would also like to Acknowledge two honorable mentions:
DVCCollector - Veil - a super nice piece, but represented on the largest of the flans. 14 mm and 1.6g. A testament to surviving artistic skill in the Late Roman Empire. echizento - Celtic Ring Money- Great entry, a great blend of size, age and originality.

#2 Jw's Honorius, Excellent details, nice desert patina.
#3 Warrens Nabatean, don't see many of these is this nice of a condition.
