This seller's ebay offerings sure don't look real to me. Check out his 1800 large cent, then take a look at his other offerings, key dates and very rare coins, if genuine! http://www.ebay.com/itm/1800-Draped...t_500wt_1202With his 85.7% rating, how can ebay tolerate this seller? Who foots the losses for ebay buyer protection, given no returns? IMHO, this is outrageous!

In the past, I've tried to report similar abuses but have been thwarted by the reporting system. I'm hoping that by posting this in CCF, those who are attuned to the ebay reporting system will take action as has happened in the past. ebay used to allow bidders to contact other bidders - see their ID's. Back then, I would contact bidders on spurious items and caution them. I received some glowing messages of thanks from various bidders, including two Brits who had bid over $1,000 for fake Bust Dollars. That seller eventually capitulated, but it was not an easy matter. Although I have decades of experience with coins, I'm not above making a mistake now and then, and I prefer to be checked. One of the great things about CCF is that we can garner confirmation and support in these matters. That's why I started this post.

Presumably allowing bidders to contact other bidders was also open to abuse by buyers wanting to frighten off the competition so that items could be bought more cheaply.

Every coin he has up is a Chinese counterfeit. Someone with an account needs to report each coin. I can't because I closed my ebay account and refuse to use them now.

I have an ebay account and just went through and reported EVERY coin hes selling! I HATE people like this! I feel bad for the 5 people who have already bought from this seller! Anyone else with an account should also report him, let's get this scumbag off of there! It's people like this that keep me from buying coins from ebay!

How about the 55 double die he sold for $1580? I don't know enough about it to validate it. If ebay finds it a forgery, paypay will reverse the proceeds. Anyone know enough about these to report it? http://cgi.ebay.com/261058800456

But what about that 55 double die wheat that he already sold? It would be $1500 out of his pocket if ebay found that one to be fake. Does anyone know enough about it to make the call?

Nothing there when I looked, maybe e-bay gave him the boot? But he will be back tommorrow under another day, but the same fake coins.

Quote: Nothing there when I looked, maybe e-bay gave him the boot? As previously stated, one item remains, a 1918-S Walker: http://www.ebay.com/sch/awesome536/...=p4340.l2562I seriously doubt that this one's genuine. It's now bid at $35 with two days remaining. The pics are a bit hazy, so I'm reluctant to call this a CC. The motto, in particular, doesn't look right to me. Also, the reverse rim appears to have micro-craters that suggest to me a form of casting, perhaps? In general, the wear pattern, central on both sides with a sharper perimeter, is such that I've seen on many a Chinese counterfeit.

Take a close look at the mint mark, it's the wrong size, too large, and orientation compared to a real 1918-S half. Ed ANA LM-3175
