1967-D Dime - I Am Clueless, Any Ideas?

pennybright Valued Member United States 117 Posts	Posted 03/06/2007 8:15 pm I got this in change, and at first thought it was 'dirty' so I dabbed mineral oil on it and let it sit a few weeks. It wasn't dirty, this is just the way it is. There is no outside rim, only an indent where the reeding should be, around the entire rim.. It kind of looks like the is other lettering on the obverse, not really sure. I'll leave this up to you guys, as I have no idea. Report this Post to the Staff

pennybright Valued Member United States 117 Posts	Posted 03/06/2007 10:46 pm I dunno. Got it from Burger King as xhange. I have seen pennies corrode, but not dimes, like this. Doesn't appear to be any 'road kill' markings on it, but I agree, if ole Rosie could talk! They started making cladded dimes in '65 right? This one has NO reeding or the part of rim the reeding would go on....Too weird. I have to laugh when people ask me for a description of the errors I have! - I dunno, they are just 'not right'. How could odd things, such as this, be described?! And it's even better in living color, because there is traces of other lettering / designs on the face of it! What would this error be called?
