Any explanations as to what is wrong here? It is just odd. Does seem to have doubling on the reverse in CENT - (?)

Most if not all of the early cents had Machine Doubling on them. there is no premium for these coins. it is damage and not an error. I don't see anything on your coin but that don't mean anything but I don't see it. but as far as I know the 1972 P was the one to look for and that doubling would be in god we trust and not the rev.

Oh, okay, and thank you. It figures that all of the good errors would come from the other side of the country !
This one just plain looks weird. At first I thought it was someones attempt at making a penny!

pennybright. I just got a better look at your coin and I would still consider it a cent lol. it looks like a light strike but there is no premium on that either.nice coin though for being 25 yrs old. I wish I did as well as that cent did. lol

Just acid eaten - no doubling I can see, and if there were, it wouldn't be worth much in its present state.
