Hey guys,

I came across this 1942 Canadian Penny a couple years back.

I'm not sure if this is an error coin, or if it is post-mint damage.

There appears to be some sort of "lip" or "flake" on the reverse of the coin. Do coins sometimes "flake" like this when being cast?

Any opinion is welcomed,
Thanks

Thanks. In your opinion, how much do you think it would be worth?

They aren't worth a whole lot. I have a couple of hundred coins with laminations. They aren't that uncommon.
