i know there is a thread "post your recent coin purchases" and "post your recent paper money purchases" but ebay is a whole new world. I'm new to ebay but in the past month I've spent close to 1000$ on over 400 coins and 100 bank notes, all between silver, copper and gold! i would love to see everyone's recent purchases and if possible the amounts! love to see people get junk silver for below spot :) i'll start with my first shipment! 4 x 2012 non-magnetic sealed rolls of pennies 2 x 1973 Canadian 1$ replacement notes 2012 SP-67 magnetic penny 1914 - 5c 1919 - 5c 1913 (2) - 5c 1959 - 25c 1967 - 25c 1950 - 50c all cost me 48$ with shipping! bonus': 1921, 1931, 1934 penny and 1930 5c Edited by jakedacc 08/24/2012 7:02 pm

Still don't believe the success above is actually real. I think that wade is lying. In this internet age there is nobody that doesn't have time to research foreign coins. You type it into google and it says if it is silver.

As a new user to a forum, inflammatory posts against established members is not a great way to introduce oneself. There is nothing unbelievable about wade's story, and even less to be gained by lying about it.

1987 proof cased loon dollar and a 1996 proof toonie with replacement $2 note set. Jake, sounds like you've been having lots of fun buying Wade great deal. Enough there to pay to replace the pants you ruined.

Quote: This looks to me like it could be an unattributed no chrome: Looks pretty strange to me, almost like it has a matte finish. I have no experience with the "missing chrome" nickels, but I imagine a mint state steel nickel would look pretty much like this one. I guess ICCS wouldn't necessarily have included a comment about the variety unless asked to do so?

Just received this one today! Thanks again to CC-Ottawa for pointing out its availability last week.

It has the dark look of the nickel finish in that era. The proper composition was steel plated with nickel plated with chrome (versus today's steel plated with copper plated with nickel). I don't know if it is no chrome. But, I got a great deal for a regular MS-65. If it is no chrome, then I got an extraordinary deal.

I lucked upon an 1859 Large Cent with a double punched "N" in a lot of coins that I bought. Resold it on E-Bay for $33.00. Nicely made up for most of the cost of the lot.
