Ummm, if these bars are selling for 1600 now, and silver doubles, they will still sell for 1600. Their price has little to do with the price of silver.

There hot right now really for no other reason than they happen to be hot right now. It really is just a fairly small group of people with money that really want them for whatever reason. It will die down eventually and my prediction is sooner rather than later. Even if you only got 1000 each or even 500 each thats still doubling your money for something that is really only worth its melt and a slight premium. You can look up coin mintages because they have legally allowed amounts or are only produced for that year. Being a private company Engelhard can do whatever they want with these. Mintage figures would be useless (doubt theyre even any) as at any given time engelhard could say were going to produce 10000 more of these and are legally within their right. They can also number them however they want and put whatever they want on the bar. Its obviously your decision but I would strongly suggest selling. Its free money for just being lucky enough to buy them at the right time. APMEX is selling poured Engelhard bars for 300-450 for 3oz 5oz and 10oz. There really is no reason that I can find to explain the mania on ebay at the moment for them. I would just suggest to take advantage of it while you can

Trust me I'd list both on ebay get in while its hot! These bars are fairly rare, but there out there. I know an older fellow with a few of these, and my local dealer has had a few come in and out of the shop over the last 5 years.

and still get 3000$ish for the whole lot! Trust me just put the 4oz bars up and get some big $$$ while things are still good.
Its not like these bars are super rare, as someone who collects engelhard and JM bars I can tell you and show you bars that are alot more rare than those.

swrbxxx, don't waste your energies. The new guy popped in, asked for good advice, got it, rejected it and has made up his mind.
Nothing to see here folks. Move right along.

I agree with other here and make you huge profit before it fades, you can buy them back soon enough for fraction of what you be selling, as soon as the fad goes out.

Quote: and still get 3000$ish for the whole lot! Aside from the fact these bars high prices are a passing fad, the more you put in a lot the less youll get per ounce. Its one thing to get a large amount for 1 rare item, but then you put up bulk lots like that people expect a discount for buying in bulk and basically expect to pay no more than melt. If you only went up to the 25oz bars thats a total of 75 oz of silver. Even if they really wanted the 4oz bar they arent going to buy 71 oz of unwanted silver to get it and they certainly wont buy 171 ounces if you include the 100 oz bar. I hope it works out for you but I just dont see how it will unless silver just skyrockets

I have a feeling if you bundle all those bullion ounces together, people will want a bundled bullion price. Consider selling one at least which in turn will help build your Engelhard "set" and go from there. Congrats on your two great pieces and best of luck.

I think this is great advice. Sell one to finance your "set". Win Win.

Flip them, make a nice profit and move on, a quick profit is a good profit, even if silver rises, I doubt the bars will.
Sell whilst you can at a big premium.
