I think these are purchases by novice collectors. I would say that most of us (myself included) have overpaid for some coins when we started collecting.

I think I agree with this. OR maybe its just something of personal value to the person and they had to have it. Personaly value is always worth soooo much more than actually dollar amounts.
hey guys! I totally agree with your opinions, I did it took, used to pay 40$/oz of silver before work once a week when silver was at 27$/oz so I could keep looking at it while at work, one day it hit me, why am I paying 13$ an oz for a maple, that's when I joined the forum, I was just surprised because my dealer sold me 3 x 1905 25c for less than spot to get rid of them, listed it and sold for 26$ shipped.
