Does anyone know when the first No LCW 50 cent piece was discovered, and when it first appeared in Charlton?

I know it appears in the 1970 Charlton's and not in the 1962.It was known in '68 when Haxby wrote his groundbreaking series of articles on Victorian obverses, but I don't know if he discovered it or not.

Howdy Toronto, the oldest Charlton I have is a 1966 Edition and it confirms the variety "no L.C.W." exists. Maybe someone out there may have an older Chartlon?

It is first listed on p80 in 1964 12th edition Charlton at a mere $40 in VG and $75.00 in UNC!!! Not in the 1963 edition .

Answers on this forum are fast!I too was curious so I ran down to the basement to grab my Charlton's from the '60s could've saved a trip if I had waited a few minutes.

Thanks everyone for the fast answer. Now here's another question...does anyone know which Canadian coin series ( ie Victorian dimes, Edward quarters etc) appreciated the most in value, in MS 60 condition, over the last 30 years or so? And which series do you think will appreciate the most over the next 30 years?
